This past July, we celebrated the 10th anniversary of Project Canaan with a day of music, dancing, special guests, and our favorite memories of the last decade. Little did we know that just a few hours later, we would be fighting to save it from destruction. As wildfires swept across Project Canaan for nearly 40 hours, and powerful winds created a suffocating haze of smoke and dust, everything that had been accomplished over the last decade was threatened, and fear and fatigue took hold in our hearts and bodies.
And then, morning came. The fires and winds died away, and we once again were witness to His love and protection.
You can’t destroy what is rooted in God’s love. The same love that inspired Him to send Jesus to the town of Bethlehem thousands of years ago is the love that holds us, guards us and provides us with hope and an opportunity for an abundant life. And hope and opportunity is what we provide with your generous support every day, by rescuing babies abandoned in the most extreme circumstances or employing someone who may be the only person on their homestead able to provide food, clothing and other necessities, thereby preventing more children from being abandoned.
Our year-end funding goal is $350,000 – and we need your most generous gift by 12/31/19 to help us continue to say “yes” to those in need.
We’ve been blessed to receive a $50,000 matching gift from friends who want to encourage an outpouring of giving, and right now your gift will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $50,000!
Your year-end gift will allow us to keep fighting hunger by feeding orphans and vulnerable children in the most rural areas of Eswatini. With your support, we can continue to provide a safe, loving home for abandoned and abused babies, giving them a future filled with opportunity. Your investment will help us decrease poverty through employment and provide education for our children, helping raise the next generation of leaders for the country.
As you and your family gather for this most holy holiday, we wish to thank you for your incredible love and steadfast support, and for giving generously and faithfully to ensure that HOPE lives here!
Ian & Janine
